Hi! This is the February issue of the Moonbase Lappträsk blog. We are still adding rooms to the list, and this months video is about the boiler room and how to produce energy for a moonbase. I think I will need to add a more technical piece with diagrams and cost projections, but that is for later. In brief, we burn wood pellets here while on the moon it would be photovoltaics, nuclear energy or possibly heat engines - heat pumps would certainly be part of the mix.
Heating is needed here as it was down below -30 degrees Celcius recently and although it is a cozy -20 degree morning now, it will take a while longer until spring brings us above freezing. ... Quite a while.
